A Dream ~ The Hunt

Ten nights ago, I dreamt that we were being chased by a lion. We were in the hills. I had a small sausage with me, like one of those Hickory Farms Summer Sausages. I started tearing off chunks when we saw the lion, tossing the pieces in the direction we were not going, hoping to confuse him. We started running down the hill. I didn't sense the lion behind us any longer.

When we reached the bottom of the hill, there were others and a car, built like a deck of cards; it caved in on itself when we approached. There was no protection from the hungry beast. In the distance, I thought I heard growls and rustling, then I saw two gazelle. They were being hunted by the lion; the attention was lifted from us, at least for the time being.

Now that's an original dream :) Freud would have a field day with that, as he would all dreams I s'pose. Happy Thursday my friend.

Dreams are wonderful little pockets into our interior lives, aren’t they, Keith? I try to write down the dreams that I find interesting, some live with me in some way, leaving a deep impression upon my soul; others float back to where they came from; and still others may reappear, but I don't have a strong memory of any particular recurring dreams.

By now, It's Monday, so Happy Monday to you my friend. : )

p.s. It would have been very interesting to meet and speak with Freud. He would have had a field day indeed!

Hello Rebb, What a nice description of a dream about lion. Some can be tame as a pussy cat though with humans if the humans are loving to them i hear. there are a lot of stories about that here.

Recently an old blog post of mine was attracting click so I went back and edited it nd perhaps improved it a bit. In the comments was one by you that was very nice. Do look it up again if you get the time. I do not know how to make links active but they can be copied and pasted in the browser. it is: http://someitemshave.blogspot.in/2010/10/in-pursuit-of-happiness.html

Hi Ashok, I'm always happy when I'm able to remember my dreams vividly. Sometimes, they feel like little stories and I gain pleasure in trying to bring the dreams to life by writing them down, that is, when I remember. : ) Our subconscious material is an endless fascination.

Thank you for the walk down memory lane. It was great to see your old blogpost.

Ah...I almost forgot...you were born under the sign of Cancer too, so good wishes to you.

p.s. About the Lion...I also have strong Leo (Lion) influences in my birth chart. Sometimes I relate to the ferocious, yet gentle nature of a lion. : )

Hi Keith, Thanks for checking in, my friend. I've been preoccupied with apartment hunting latley, but all is well. I hope to get back to my blog soon. I've been doing my "morning pages" sporadically and writing in my journal--thank goodness for that. : )

are you a cancer too Rebb? Best wishes.

Yes dreams are a world unto themselves, the more active our day lives the more the dreams I think.

I just realised that there is an email follow up of comments and will click it today for the first time to a comment. Sometime back I added that in my blogs too for alerts on new comments to older posts.

Yep, I'm a Cancer too, Ashok. I had always remembered that you were and recognized certain similarities in our temperaments just through reading you, especially when you and Vincent got into heated debates ; )

Sometimes I forget to click on the email follow up comments. It's a handy feature.

Thanks, Ashok. It's about time for me to change my profile image again. But, yes where I took that photo was peaceful. A little spot in Carmel called The Secret Garden.
