It is a sweet painful song—that’s a good description.

After I thought about this, I did a quick search, and here’s what I found:

Interesting…
http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/delilah

It looks like a Swedish botanist discovered dahlia and it was named after him. His name was Anders Dahl.
http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/dahlia

It sounds like you grew up with a lot of pretty flowers.

That’s cute, Keiko, I can definitely see you pulling the flowers out to see if they have bulbs. I would like to do it too. :)Rebbhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08117210892683574784noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4322097819850058517.post-14090824865412330782011-08-05T11:24:51.245-07:002011-08-05T11:24:51.245-07:00Rebb,

And growing up, Dalliah was regular in Japan every summer. Dalliah is bulb, but Zinnia is not. Dark red dalliah appeared in our Yokohama garden every summer.

I didn't know Delilah means Dalliah. I love that sweet painful music.

Rebb, about zinnia or Dalliah, you don't have to pull it out to see whether bulb or not although I'd like to do it. It has the same characteristic big droopy center that I remember from working in the flower shop. I did a quick google search and there are some that have those leaves. It appears there are many varieties, some that actually look similar to zinnia.

We can call her Beautiful Delilah. What do you think? And this song comes to mind…

Hey There Delilah
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EbJtYqBYCV8

I love the guitar and the melody.Rebbhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08117210892683574784noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4322097819850058517.post-71522763388196003132011-08-05T09:10:27.098-07:002011-08-05T09:10:27.098-07:00Jitu, I’m so glad you enjoyed the post. It’s not easy being a shy child and I remember my mother used to try hard to get me to be sociable, but sometimes, I think a shy child needs their quiet space until they are ready. Thank you, Jitu for sharing and posting :)Rebbhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08117210892683574784noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4322097819850058517.post-57401441305174186592011-08-04T00:52:19.433-07:002011-08-04T00:52:19.433-07:00Rebb,

The flower looks like dahlia, but the leaves do not look like it. I wonder what her name is.

I also read the book by Goldberg, and I liked it.keiko amanohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10009453048859594709noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4322097819850058517.post-23191878791169411592011-08-03T11:48:18.331-07:002011-08-03T11:48:18.331-07:00First one had an error.
